- Five Easy Steps to Prepare to Enter Individual Project Data (Download PDF) **UPDATED 1/31/2017**
As of November 1, 2014, the database transitioned from Defense Technology Areas to Communities of Interest.
Pursuant to DFARS 231.205-18(c)(iii)(C), DTIC will update the IR&D Submission process to add a new proposed project input to the input form. In the interim, you will have 2 choices:
If you have not contacted a knowledgeable Department of Defense member you should:
Use the current IR&D input form to submit new proposals, and in the Status of Effort Field, select "New Proposal".
Select only one targeted organization from Target Agency field. Complete the remainder of the fields as necessary (required and optional).
A system generated email will be sent to the Knowledgeable POC for the Targeted Agency you selected, notifying him that a new proposal has been entered.
If you have already contacted a knowledgeable Department of Defense member about a New Proposal you should:
Use the current IR&D input form, and in the Status of Effort Field, select New Start. Three new fields will appear for the First Name, Last Name and Date of the Knowledgeable POC that read your project. Complete the remainder of the fields as necessary (required and optional).
