2011 Rapid Innovation Fund Awards

Congress appropriated approximately $500 million in Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 for the Rapid Innovation Fund. FY11 NDAA Language (section 1073)

During the period of September – November 2011, the Department of Defense published four Broad Agency Announcements (BAA), one each from Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Office of Small Business Programs, to solicit proposals for Rapid Innovation funding.

• Offerors were instructed to submit a 'white paper', used for the initial basis for award determination.
• Offerors whose white papers were selected were invited to submit full proposals as a basis for selecting the final awards.
